My name is Serish Mjema, and I’m 20 years old. Elevate has become my safe space, a place where I feel seen, loved, and valued. Being surrounded by girls with different stories is heartwarming, and the activities we do have helped build my confidence. I’ve learned to share my ideas, show kindness, and grow in love.

Elevate gives us a platform to express our talents through dance, singing, and games, and it supports us practically with hygiene kits during our monthly cycles. In a world that often takes advantage of girls in vulnerable moments. I have never been more loved than I am right now. They say educate and empower a girl and you have educated the whole community. There is no great reward than a lady who is empowered and resilient. I feel blessed being part of Elevate.

My name is Dorothy. I am a born-again Christian. I am 25 years old and I was born and raised in the Mathare Slums. As a girl child it's not easy to survive in the streets of Mathare but I thank God that I was able to do it. I am passionate about mentoring young girls and telling them that it's possible for them to make it in life. Elevate Girls Ministry will really be of great help for the girls in Mathare to grow spiritually and also to give them hope and remind them that they should not be defined by where they are coming from. My prayer is to see many girls transformed. I am a strong believer that any girl can make it despite where she's from. If I did it, they can do it as well.
